The part of history I like the most is about people, their lives and destiny.About big or small stories that have shaped our world.Like the one about strateg and conquerer, Roman Lucullus and cherry. Famous for many victories at East he brought the first cultivated cherry to Europe, Rome, in 72 b.c.. Romans called it CERASUM, efter the Anatolian town of its origin, Cerasus. Many languages use this root for the name of cherry: cerise, česnja, kirsch, trešnja, ciliege, cherry…Have a look at cherries from My botanical garden and imagine all this history hiding between the green leaves and red fruit! Ave!

I’m afraid the birds get most of the cherries. They wake earlier in the morning than we do and they are happy to eat them before they are quite ripe!
