Since bees see in the ultraviolet spectrum and not the visible spectrum, crab spider camouflage is geared toward the UV wavelengths of the flowers. Whether or not they happen to also match the flowers’ visible wavelengths may be a coincidence. Then again, matching the visible wavelengths as well may help them avoid predators like birds.

I’ve seen once the photos of flowers like the bees see them-it was like discovering a new word! Yet this spider was something new for me, too, I like it , I always admire spiders, they are like small aliens or little robots in a way.I wish I would know their evolution story better…
