I think I actually keyed “the lowest one is the hard one to see” but didn’t watch what was actually registering. Anyway, that’s what I meant. This species does form roosts with quite large numbers sometimes outside the breeding season, but this might have been a family group.
They’re probably easier to see in a still photo. Live, they stay so still they’re often missed.

Yes, they were staying so still as pears on a tree! Only mother was observing the situation eager as I approached them for a pic. They are protected here and so everybody was happy with them, but to tell the truth, they were noisy whole nights long, under their trees the patio was…….and as they left, there were far less little birds around as before…… mum and dad might come next year again 😉
